Why I became a Chiropractor.
In 1983, while playing football for the University of North Dakota, I suffered a serious neck injury which caused me to lose strength, sensation  and reflexes in much of my left arm and hand.  After consulting orthopedic and neurologic specialists who were unable to help me, I reluctantly went to a chiropractor on the advice of a coach.  As he said, "What have you got to lose?"  After a complete chiropractic exam and x-rays, the chiropractor determined that I had misaligned (subluxated) vertebrae in my neck which were compressing the nerves which ran down my arm and explained that by re-aligning the vertebrae through a series of adjustments there was a good chance for a full recovery.  My response to treatment was excellent and I was able to return for my senior season of football, something that meant a great deal to me at the time.

As a pre-med student at the University of North Dakota, my successful response to chiropractic treatment when all other treatments failed, caused me to become very intrigued with this natural approach to healing.  The more I learned the more inspired I became, leading me to pursue a career in chiropractic rather than medicine.  I felt that if I could help just one other person like I had been helped, it would be worth it.....it certainly has been.
