FAQs
Is Chiropractic safe?
Yes.  Our patients range from newborn babies to the elderly and everyone in between.  Because chiropractors don't prescribe drugs or surgery, it is much safer than medical interventions.    The long track record of safety is reflected in the malpractice rates of chiropractors which are a fraction of the premiums paid by medical doctors.

Does Chiropractic work?
The continued rapid growth of Chiropractic and the increasing millions of satisfied patients are evidence enough but, recently, a medical study has even reported that Chiropractic provides the best long-term outcomes for disc herniations.  Chiropractic is the only branch of healthcare that identifies and naturally corrects spinal misalgnments.

Do you accept insurance?
Yes.   We accept most types of insurance (Medica, Health Partners, Blue Cross/ Blue Shield, etc).  Our staff will call your insurance carrier to determine your benefits and explain your coverage in detail before you incur any charges.  We also offer many affordable cash discount plans for those with poor or no insurance coverage.

What is a subluxation?
A subluxation is a vertebrae which is misaligned or not moving properly resulting in nerve irritation.  Chiropractors are the only health professionals trained specifically to detect and correct subluxations.

How do I know if I have a subluxation?
Have your spine examined by a chiropractor as they are the only healthcare professionals trained to detect these spinal misalignments.  Common symptoms include pain, loss of range of motion/stiffness, radiating pain or numbness in the arms or legs, headaches, fatigue and muscle tightness to name a few.  Most subluxations, however, start out with no pain at all until they have persisted for months or years and damage is already done.  The best way to maintain your spine is to get checked by a chiropractor regularly.  You probably get your teeth checked regularly and the spine is far more important to your overall health. Chiropractic is a necessary component of an overall wellness approach to maximizing health.

What is an adjustment?
There are many different techniques that Chiropractors use to re-align, or adjust, subluxations.  Usually the Chiropractor uses his/her hands to create a specific movement of the vertebra to its normal position.  Occasionally a small mechanical device or specialized table is used to assist in the adjustment of the subluxated vertebra.  The patient is always evaluated to determine the most appropriate technique for their unique case.

What can I expect on a first visit?
I will take a thorough history of your complaints, perform a detailed examination and often take x-rays of the spine to make an accurate diagnosis. After compiling this information I will present my findings and recommendations and answer any questions you may have. If I don't think we can help, I'll tell you that, too.

If you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to email me.
